Ro-bo calls are not covered/mentioned under any state laws. This may change in the future, but for now, no legend or "this call paid for" or "I'm the candidate and "I approved this call" is required.
If this is being paid for with campaign funds, the expenditure must be disclosed on the appropriate forms.

I'm glad you got an answer on this question. I hope you write something to the State Board of Elections to encourage them to make appropriate changes.
Unrelated: Your responder from the Durham BOE referred to "Ro-Bo Calls". Lordy, I hate to be so quick to judge, but that sure seems like evidence that said person is not as savvy as I'd like him/her to be. Maybe s/he should spend more time using "the Google".
