Spitzer?!

Boy, if there was one guy in politics i thought could be trusted to keep his dick in his pants, it was Eliot "Ness" Spitzer.

  • Two questions come to mind.

    1. Did he really piss someone off through his various white collar crime prosecutions and is this part of some "set-up?"

    2. Just how good is Mrs. Spitzer's aim with a dish?

    Just sayin'!

  • Another AG/DA from the Nifong school of good government.

  • I'll take that as a challenge, dear sir. I submit that "it is considered poor form to raise such a comparison arbitrarily with the motive of ending the thread." (wikipedia)

Perhaps you'd allow it with a bit more substantive commentary. Spitzer is a vile man. I used to date a securities litigator for Salomon Bros. who was defending Jack Grubman when "Spitzer Swallow" was making noise re: analyst recommendations. Grubman was patently biased for WorldCom, of course, but everyone knew this without Spitzer making a federal case out of it (or a state case, in this instance).

Anyone recall the anchors of CNBC's "Squawk Box" in the late 90s making fun of college students who wanted to be analysts? "Can you say 'buy'"? OK, can you say "S...S...Se". The pump-and-dump scheme was a running joke, and you didn't have to Warren Buffet to stay away from the internet stocks.

Anyway, I used to run around Central Park, and there's a protocol to run counter-clockwise around the reservoir. Spitzer the jackass would always run the wrong way, and one day I got in his path and simply flipped him the bird.

I waited a week for the black helicopters to arrive, then left the state for NC.

  • Spitzer = Nifong? I don't see the connection.

Didn't Spitzer win most of his prosecutions? And doesn't that mean most of the people committing white collar crime in those cases were guilty?

    I like that.

    --We Warned You--

I read part of the Vanity Fair piece (it's almost a warning to Spitzer to lighten up) and apparently he made it all the way to the NY Governor's mansion in spite of pissing off legions of people.

    --Elliot Mess--

Seeing how the FBI is currently under Republican Rule, how interesting that a Democratic politician got hauled off. Spitzer's perfect for this, due to his difficult personality.

I'd be curious to know when Spitzer developed a taste for expensive prosties. Was it somewhere a long time ago, or more recently? Who worked with him on the details of his "arrangements"? I wonder if that person worked for the FBI? Is there any entrapment involved? I suppose these are moot points, because Spitzer did use his free will to hook up with a whore the night before Valentine's Day. (sound of hand slapping my forehead)
