Ummm, how about Teh Google?

So this guy shows up in a small Missouri town called Gerald, claiming to be a DEA agent with a tricked out police car and some credentials. He offers to help the locals bust up some drug rings and stuff, and they arrest 17 people over a couple of months.

Turns out the guy was never a cop, and now, after a bunch of town employees, including the police chief, have been fired, those 17 people are suing.

Here's the best part:
"He had credentials. He had a badge. He had a phone number to call for verification," said Gerald Mayor Otis Schulte. "I don't know what else we could have done."

Make that soon-to-be ex-Gerald Mayor Otis Schulte, i would think.

  • Maybe he was a superhero -- DEA Man or the like. Those guys, just like Superman and Batman, don't need credentials. :)

  • I have to take my shoes off like some kind of dadgum supplicant just to board an aircraft to visit my mother and this guy rolls into town with no background check?

I bet they buy a lot of bogus vinyl siding in that town to.

  • Didn't this happen in an episode of Reno 911?
