Except this is the Democratic Party you're talking about. When your opening gambit is compromise, it's hard to take a stand on principle against a load of bullshit so deep it could swallow the Capitol building whole.

The correct response is "you're a fucking moron, and i can't believe you're wasting the time of the good citizens who showed up here tonight with your insane bullshit."
It seems to me that our Democratic representatives are becoming caught up in these types of conversations time-after-time at the so-called town meetings. Wouldn't a much more effective approach at this point in the game be simply be to look at one of these tea baggers in the eye and say "sir, you are misinformed, you are listening to lies." Simple, quick clean and strong.

When George Bush came to Raleigh in early 2005 to have a Town hall on dismantling Social Security, it was invitation only. Opposing viewpoints were confined to an outside area.
I can imagine what would have happened to anyone trying to bring a loaded gun into that session.
