The awesome power of Dependable Erection

One of my absolute favorite things to whine about the past few years has been the patch of curbside mud on Avondale Drive that serves as my nearest bus stop. Since the bus doesn't really go anywhere that i need it to, i never take it, but there's usually a couple of people waiting for a ride downtown in the morning, standing in the mud or the hot sun, or sitting on the trash can.

I've made several requests over the years to have a shelter installed there.

What a surprise to come home to from the recent road trip:

I think it's worth celebrating myself.

  • Holy crap! I hadn't noticed that yet. Must have happened when I was out of town too.
I'm sure some folks will be much happier sitting in the shelter than standing in mud, or sitting on top of the trash can.

Thanks for your incessant bitching about this issue. Sometimes it actually works!

  • Still at least 6 more bus stops on Avondale between the freeway and Geer Street that lack the basic amenities for a bus stop.

  • Hey man -- I can't see the pic. Is there a pic?

  • Yep. And a video.

  • If it's any consolation, my stop on Hillsborough Rd. consistently has people standing in dewey grass in the morning and the hot sun in the afternoon.

  • Hey, the other bus stop up at the triangle of land at Avondale and E. Markham also has a shelter now too!

  • Woo-hoo!
